SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah Sports Council is excited to announce the unveiling of their new mobile app. The app is a platform targeted to help enhance the experience of Savannah Sports Council hosted running events – the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K and the Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run.
“The addition of the App is the next addition in a line of improvements to our Sports Council events. The App allows us to communicate immediately to our attendees for emergencies and weather issues, gives our sponsors improved activation, and is a major step toward making our event more environmentally sustainable.” says Sports Council Director Rob Wells.
Each of the two races has its own section within the app so users can look for information of their interested race. For each race, users can view the race course, see a count down until race day, event schedules, frequently asked questions and more.
Runners can register directly using the app and can find exclusive offers from sponsors. Users can also find a fun spot within the app where they can take selfies with race related filters that they can share on social media and with friends!
During the day of the race, the app will be used to send notifications to participants about start times, updates on events going on, and security/weather warnings if these issues occur.
For the Publix’s Women’s Half Marathon and 5K there is also real time, runner tracking capability. This feature will allow spectators to view runner’s locations, times and progression on the route.
The app is available now in the Apple App Store and Google Play by searching Savanah Sports Council.
The Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run will be held on December 1, 2018. The race is known as the “South’s Toughest Bridge Run”, giving runners a chance to run/walk up to three trips over Talmadge Bridge by participating in either the 5K (once over), 10K (twice over) and Double Pump (three times over).
