SAVANNAH, Ga.— The Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K will take place this Saturday, April 6, resulting in road closures. More than 2,600 people are expected to participate in this fifth annual race event.
Majority of roads will be closed starting at 6:45 a.m., with most of the 5K route reopening by 8:30 a.m. The half marathon route will temporarily close Victory Drive between 8-10:30 a.m. Detours will be at Abercorn and Bee Roads. The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department will assist with the event, allowing cars to safely cross the course at major intersections. Click here for more information on the routes.
The race weekend will begin with a Fashion Fitness Expo at Kehoe Iron Works at Trustees Garden from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Friday, April 5. The half marathon and 5K races start at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, with the post-race party to be held in Forsyth Park.
