Our two charity partners this year are Girls on the Run and Renegade Paws Rescue. 

About Girls on the Run:
Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. Our Mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Our 10-week program drives transformative change in the lives of elementary and middle school girls.

Why Girls on the Run Matters
Girls on the Run makes a stronger impact than organized sports or physical education in teaching life skills and building confidence in young girls.

• Girls’ self-confidence begins to drop by age nine.
• 50% of girls ages 10 to 13 experience bullying such as name calling and exclusion.
• Physical activity levels decline at age 10 and continue to decrease throughout adolescence.

About Renegade Paws Rescue:
Renegade Paws is a woman owned 501(c)(3) volunteer based organization dedicated to providing the highest level of care for unwanted, abused, or injured dogs in the Coastal Empire and surrounding areas.

Renegade was founded in the summer of 2019 with a little bit of money and a big dream to help dogs that otherwise would not have a chance.

We started as a primarily foster-based organization and in 2023, we launched a capital campaign to purchase a building with kennels that had just become available. Thanks to our community's unbelievably generous support, were able to purchase the small shelter to support dogs and cats while they wait for foster and forever homes.
